ADIEU
Adieu is a collection of etchings created in 2013-14 in response to my mother’s death. Adieu, “farewell” and “to God” in French, reflects our common language. The collection documents the mourning process that I expressed intuitively through my art.
I chose to print diptychs, to create a communication between two parallel plates divided by a gap. In addition, I used strong and dangerous acids to express the feeling of disintegration.
As I contemplated the first spontaneous piece I produced, “Hope”, I felt the pain that was only the beginning of my process. Over the year, the powerful creations I produced came from a deep place which brought healing and insight into our long relationship.

THE BLUES
The Blues gives voice to the difficult emotions of pain, distress and loss, through the multi-faceted technique of etching.
I prepare the plate, paint it with sugar-lift, plunge it into the acid bath.
As I watch the chemicals bubbling up, the metamorphosis of the plate is a metaphor for my own healing through the synergy of the medium and me, the artist.
